DEELYA is designed in France. The internal support is manufactured in Italy, and the textile part in Portugal. This page presents the journey of the product: the workshops, the materials, and the manufacturing choices.

DEELYA is designed in France. The design, choice of materials, textile selection, and prototypes were developed by two people in Haute-Savoie.

The internal support is manufactured in an Italian workshop established in 1990, originating from the world of rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and well-being. This experience with flexible materials and objects related to movement was a significant factor in the choice.

The textile cover is made in Portugal by our textile partner, by seamstresses specialized in upholstery. Each piece is hand-sewn, with attention paid to fit, finishes, and how it sits on the seat support. Many details evolved through this back-and-forth: the cut, the handle, the drape of the fabric, the tension around the support.

The choice of Europe stems from a concrete need: to see and request adjustments in person. On our scale, it was the only way to maintain control over the details that matter.

The support is made of PVC, chosen for its flexibility and durability. The material accommodates micro-movement without weighing down the object, and maintains its integrity year after year.

It contains no phthalates, BPA, lead, or latex. The support is 100% recyclable-material — the recycling chain still needs to be organized.

Initially, the desire was for pretty fabrics that looked good. In the end, the choice fell on upholstery fabrics — durability, abrasion resistance, sun resistance.

The process took time. About fifty references were reviewed from catalogs. Fifteen samples were received. Seven fabrics were convincing enough to be mounted on a DEELYA prototype. Four were selected.
These fabrics were not only chosen for their appearance: they also had to lend themselves to precise tailoring, capable of conforming to the round shape of the support.

Four colors, two fabrics. In heathered — Seren, Bora, Terra: an OEKO-TEX certified fabric. In velvet — Lume: a fabric made of 50% recycled polyester.

Seren, a soft gray. Bora, a black with blue undertones. Terra, a deep brown. Lume, an ecru beige. A sober and neutral palette, in deep tones. Colors that stand on their own, beyond fleeting trends.

The camel color appears on the logo tag. It's a signature, a nod to walnut wood.

The handle has been redesigned several times, to the point of becoming almost invisible. Its position, width, and finish have been adjusted with our textile partner to remain discreet, functional, and consistent with the rest of the object.

The diameter was chosen to be larger than that of the first versions tested. The chosen model offers a more enveloping seating surface, adapted to different body shapes.

The support has two sides, one flat, the other with round, wide, and soft reliefs. A characteristic of the chosen mold—which we kept as a functional dimension: you choose, you flip it over during the day.

DEELYA arrives in separate parts: the frame, the textile part, the accessories for the initial setup. The frame inflates upon receipt. The textile cover can be removed, washed, and replaced.

Storage and package preparation are entrusted to an Ecocert-certified logistics partner in Savoie. To guarantee the perfect integrity of our frames and upholstery fabrics, warehouse conditions are continuously monitored (temperature and humidity) using TESTO precision tools.

Packaging is kept to a minimum—no overpackaging, no unnecessary protection.
